Peter’s Adventures – Lion Fish and Whales!

1. The lion fish is the second most venomous creature on the ocean floor.
2. A lion fish can kill grouper.
3. A lion fish has many nick names like TURKEY FISH, DRAGON FISH, BUTTERFLY COD, PEACOCK Lion FISH, DEVIL FISH, ZEBRA FISH, SCORPION FISH. But the real scientific name is PTERNIS VALVILITENS
4. The lion fish’s dorsal fin contains 18 barbs of venom.
5. The lion fish sting is extremely painful but not fatal.
6. The lion fish color is the warning of danger.
7. The lion fish is at the top of the food chain.
8. The lion fish eats the reef fish

The Whale:

A whale!!!!!!!!!!!!! we saw a whale off the North End of Dominica. Me and Mira saw it and mom and dad did not see it. Mom and dad were bummed that they did not see it because we were going crazy ??.Me and mira thought it was a Balouga Whale. That was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Peter – It’s very unlikely that you saw a beluga whale off Dominica. They are usually in much colder water. Commonly one see’s sperm whales there, and also maybe humpback whales.

    I am staying away from lion fish!
    We saw a humpback whale with her calf, near Rincon Puerto Rico! It was a real thrill. We were on the shore. Enjoy your trip! Aunt Donna
